Streamer HisWattson Donates $25,000

Since viewers frequently become irritated with having to endure them, several larger gaming streamers opt to turn off adverts throughout their live broadcasts.

However, Apex Legends pro HisWattson discovered a way to make use of these brief interruptions despite initially being opposed to running advertisements. He said back in October that he would let advertisements play during his streams and use the money to buy gaming equipment for folks who can’t afford it. The streamer only succeeded in leaving his trailer home in November after his breakthrough in 2022, suggesting that he has previously struggled with money.

Jacob McMillin, also known as HisWattson, begged his Apex Legends followers to be patient with him for a few weeks since it would all be for a good cause. A further update from McMillin stated that roughly $20,000 (£16,600) worth of PCs were distributed on December 21 in time for Christmas to benefit those in need. He also disclosed that he made the decision to pay an additional $5,000 (£4,100) to support a gaming competition for BIPOC (black, indigenous, and people of color).

Additionally, about $4,000 (£3,300) was utilized to aid a dog with surgery and purchase Christmas presents for underprivileged children. McMillin is currently giving away a top-of-the-line gaming PC on Twitter because he stated that after taking care of his community, he would like to donate one to the general public. When his followers and fellow streamers learned of his plans, they immediately praised him for his humanitarian deeds.

Some people were also moved by McMillin’s immediate decision to concentrate on helping his neighborhood even though he had only recently moved out of his trailer home. Among those who left McMillin heartfelt messages thanking him for making the BIPOC competition possible was one of the participants. According to McMillin, the gaming company MSI, which “handled all the logistics,” made these good deeds possible.

McMillin is most known for playing Apex Legends at a high level for the Brazilian esports team FURIA Esports. He has almost 400,000 Twitch followers and occasionally streams Overwatch 2.
