Shroud Impersonator

Online streaming platforms such as Twitch are mostly popular because of their major streamers such as Ninja and Shroud who recently signed exclusive deals with Twitch. Shroud is one of the biggest streamers on the Twitch platform having more than 8.6 million followers. Because of his popularity, it is hard to avoid scammers. Many fake accounts of scammers have scattered causing some fans to be misled to the fake accounts of the scammers to buy some of their skins.

The fake account using Shroud’s name was said to be good at deceiving people because he had just collected more than 24 thousands viewers on his stream. On the scammer’s stream they falsely claim to give away free skins to all, even placing a message on the lower part of the screen which says “write skins in the chat for your prize”. This issue was serious for everyone, not just for the streamers, because some of the innocent audience were also affected by this.

They are making money out of the copyright of the content of the popular streamers and from deceiving innocent viewers who will buy from them a skin or for the sake of views.

Shroud isn’t the only one having problems like this. Other popular streamers such as Ninja, Clix, Tfue and others are experiencing this kind of stuff. Twitch should help resolve this issue for them to identify the fake accounts and to report them to be banned on the platform.
