Shroud Explained Battlefield 2042 Advantage Over Call Of Duty: Vanguard

Shroud, a Twitch streamer, weighs in on whether he’s more excited for Battlefield 2042 or Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Battlefield 2042’s postponement has sparked a far larger internet debate than many imagined. The shooter was recently delayed by less than a month, far less than many had expected. Battlefield 2042’s revised release date, however, has sparked a greater debate, as it will now be released after Call of Duty: Vanguard. Many people have expressed their opinions about the delay, including Shroud, one of Twitch’s most prominent streamers.

To highlight Shroud’s remarks, one of his viewers asked him about Battlefield 2042 and Call of Duty: Vanguard, specifically if Battlefield 2042 would have trouble launching after Call of Duty: Vanguard. After all, Call of Duty is the considerably more popular multiplayer first-person shooter franchise. Shroud, on the other hand, expressed his support for Battlefield 2042, claiming that it had one “benefit” over Call of Duty: Vanguard.

According to Shroud, this benefit is fairly easy. He thinks Battlefield 2042 offers superior gunplay, which is a phrase used by shooter gamers to describe the sensation of firing a game’s weapons and the overlapping experience. The difference between the two games is “little,” according to Shroud, but if he had to choose, Battlefield’s gameplay “is superior to Call of Duty’s.” Shroud will almost probably be playing both games at launch, thus his assessment is based on his previous experiences with both franchises’ titles.

Shroud watches an overview of Battlefield 2042’s new Specialist gameplay demos in one of his recent Twitch sessions. Shroud doesn’t say much, but he is interested in Specialist Webster Mackay because of his Nimble feature, which allows him to move faster swiftly while shooting down the sights. Mackay also employs a surface-attaching Grappling Hook, which appeals to Shroud’s fast-paced and high-movement playstyle.

While Shroud may claim that he likes the gunplay in Battlefield over that in Call of Duty, his streaming history does not necessarily reflect this. Shroud hasn’t streamed Battlefield since 2019, according to tracking services. He’s also spent more time playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and has lately played Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. When asked if he will play Battlefield’s Firestorm battle royale in 2019, Shroud stated he would probably not. Maybe there’s something exceptional about Battlefield 2042, or maybe he’s just tired of Call of Duty.

Shroud’s bread and butter are first-person shooters like Battlefield 2042. As part of the Cloud9 squad, Shroud expanded his renown as a professional Counter-Strike player, winning many competitions between 2015 and 2017.
