Pokimane Speaks About Sexism

Imane “Pokimane” Anys, a Twitch streamer, has decided to speak out against sexist behavior after receiving a lot of reaction in the early days of 2022.

Pokimane has already had some difficulties in 2022, despite the fact that it is just a few weeks into the new year. After being attacked by JiDion’s fandom, she canceled a stream on January 12, prompting several notable content creators, including Felix “xQc” Lengyel, to speak out against misogyny. He questioned why Pokimane was being harassed simply because she was a woman, claiming that people should not be poisonous to anyone regardless of gender.

Standing up for Pokimane, according to Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo, isn’t “simping” for her. Because of this negative label, some people are likely to remain silent about Pokimane’s mistreatment by various groups and individuals.

During a broadcast on January 15th, Pokimane decided to finally talk about what she’d been through. She claims that female streamers’ “attractiveness” is often used against them. They are occasionally told that their viewers just care about their appearance and want to sleep with them, which Pokimane relates to sexism.

Pokimane said; “For starters, that’s rude and gross. Nobody asked. What’s wrong with finding someone hot?”

Many prominent male actors, according to Pokimane, have female followers who find them attractive. Despite this, few make a big deal out of it or refer to these followers as “simps.” Just because someone is attractive doesn’t imply they aren’t also credible and competent, according to Pokimane.

Pokimane said; “Why are you mad? Since when is being hot a bad thing? It’s so odd.”

Pokimane has been accused of having an “army of simps” who solely watch her in the hopes of dating her or otherwise attracting her attention. Her fans are frequently inquisitive about her dating life. Pokimane, on the other hand, has received fire for appearing on stream without makeup. Pokimane is plainly irritated by the amount of attention she is receiving for her appearance. Pokimane’s Twitter account has been made private, and her name has been changed to “incel slayer.”
