Imane “Pokimane” Anys Signs A Multi-Year Deal To Stay On Twitch

Imane Anys, better known as her alias Pokimane is a Twitch streamer and YouTuber. Imane is best known for her live streams on Twitch where she showcases her playing skills in Fortnite. Pokimane is one of Twitch’s biggest female stars with more than 3.9 million followers and 17 million into all her social media accounts. She started streaming way back in 2013, and she is considered to be one of the first Twitch stars to break into the mainstream landscape.

Pokimane is passionate about supporting aspiring gamers. Most recently, she donated $50,000 to the University of California, Irvine, for student scholarships for its Esports program. Her gift marked the first endowment in the history of UCI Esports, and will fund tuition and other academic fees for gamers who are awarded the merit-based “Pokimane Scholarship.”

Recently, Imane Anys announced that she had signed a multiyear deal to continue to stream exclusively on Twitch. The recommitment will provide new opportunities for Pokimane to expand her homegrown Twitch community and to leverage the platform’s wide variety of streaming tools to further develop her Esports content.

Imane stated in a press release, “Since I began my gaming career on Twitch six years ago, the platform has given me such an incredible opportunity to create content and connect with people all around the world. The community of streamers on Twitch, as well as the community I’ve built around my channel, they both mean so much to me.”

With the signing of this deal, the rumors of her moving to Mixer, YouTube and Facebook Gaming can all be put to rest, unlike the other gamers such as Ninja who left Twitch to moveover to Mixer. As part of this deal, she will not be allowed to stream on a different platform, but she will continue to put videos up on her YouTube.
