Pokimane Discusses Why She Has Fake Teeth

Imane “Pokimane” Anys, a Twitch star, has been using “fake teeth” for approximately a month, but not for aesthetic purposes. As opposed to that, it’s to address a health problem that has made her life a “living hell.”

Pokimane began to experience ringing in her right ear a month ago, which worsened as she tried to fall asleep. The issue remained even after a physician dismissed it as tinnitus brought on by congestion and offered medicine to alleviate it. An inner ear infection was identified by a second specialist, who also ordered medication. But once more, it didn’t go away and even got worse to the point that it affected her quality of life.

She said, “The ringing got out of control. My life became a living hell. For like a week, I heard ringing all of the time. I couldn’t sleep well. I couldn’t do much of anything. I was so down. I had no appetite. I felt like utter doo-doo.”

When Pokimane eventually visited the doctor again, they advised her to cease taking the prescription. She quickly felt much better, but the slight ringing in her ear persisted. She decided to research it on her own and discovered that it might be related to the discomfort she had been experiencing in her right temporomandibular joint, which joins the jaw to the skull. Her jaw alignment abnormalities could be the source of the tinnitus, according to a CT scan. In order to realign her jaw, the doctor made what Pokimane characterized as “fake teeth” that she must temporarily wear.

She remarked about wearing them, “My bottom teeth are way longer than they normally are. It feels so weird. I’m not used to it. My face hurts a bit. I’m just hoping it helps.”

Pokimane warned that if the false teeth don’t appear to solve the issue, she could need to wear braces for a while in order to permanently resolve it. She said, “Imagine having braces in your mid-20s!”

But despite how difficult it has been, Pokimane has maintained a cheerful and upbeat attitude. The Moroccan-Canadian star even made light of the possibility of needing braces while working as an influencer. She said while doing her best attempt at a British accent; “I can’t do it. Sorry! Not me. I’m an influencer. I have content to make. I don’t know if I can do it. We’ll see!”
