Pokemon Record Broken

Twitch streamer and former rapper Logic has spent a lot for a rare 1st edition Charizard. The Pokemon trading card game is known for being quite expensive for over the past two years and only recently, streamers have become noticeable because of their paying high amounts of money to purchase and collect these kinds of items.

At the October 9, 2020 live auction, he raised his money up to 226 thousand for a shadowless 1st edition Charizard and because of this, he broke the record of Nintendo Collectibles. This Charizard card was said to be a “shadowless” which means that there is no shadow on the right hand side of the art as well as it’s box which is also rare. According to a Card Investing Company called Cardhops, the sale of this card has set the new record of highest cost Charizard card that has ever been sold to anyone. This record beats the past record of more than $50,000.

Cardhops tweeted out; “A PSA 10 Base Set 1st Edition Charizard just sold at auction with an ending bid of $183,812.00 via @IconicAuctions‬. Including the 20% buyer’s premium, the total transaction value exceeds 220 thousand dollars. As of now, this is the highest known sale of the card”.
