PewDiePie shares Opinion of Naruto x Fortnite

It seems like Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg isn’t a fan of Fortnite’s collaboration with the popular anime series ‘Naruto,’ arguing that some crossovers should never be made.

Naruto, the popular anime series, debuted in Fortnite on November 17th. The absurdity of Halo’s Master Chief fighting Sasuke and Kakashi sparked a flood of memes as soon as this much-anticipated cooperation was announced. This is the latest in a long line of collaborations between Fortnite and a variety of high-profile IPs and personalities, including the Marvel superheroes and even Ariana Grande.

However, not everyone, including PewDiePie, is a fan of this never-ending run of collaborations. In a November 22nd video, the YouTuber, who has the most subscribers of any independent creator on the platform, expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation.

Here’s what he stated; “Fortnite is ruining everything that I love!” he joked, “They took Superman. They took Master Chief. And now, they’ve come for my boy Naruto! Why? Why does this exist? Who asked for this? The thing is, like, alright, Master Chief. Sure, I loved Halo as a kid. Who didn’t? We all did. But at least he had a gun, right? Cut to this. You know, there’s a lot of pent-up anger here for me, because this has been going on for a while. Sure, I loved Naruto as a kid, but it doesn’t matter now.”

The Swedish influencer then went on to criticize Fortnite’s collaboration with Balenciaga, claiming that the game was “s**tposting fashion” and had “ruined” the high-end fashion brand by demanding 555 pounds for a white sweatshirt with the Fortnite logo. Of course, PewDiePie’s comments were somewhat humorous, but the Swede made sure to say that if Fortnite and IKEA ever collaborate, “it’s over.”
