PewDiePie Purchases Wish Item

Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg, alleges he had a run-in with the law after purchasing a weapon from the popular online retailer ‘Wish.’

PewDiePie is the most-subscribed independent content creator on YouTube, with nearly a decade of videos to show for his 111 million subscribers. He chose to buy a few items for his latest film from the prominent online retailer ‘Wish,’ which has been criticized by netizens for selling purported knock-offs. As a fidget toy, Kjellberg is frequently seen flipping around what appears to be a butterfly knife throughout his videos and live streams.

A ‘balisong,’ another name for a butterfly knife, was one of his Wish purchases. What appeared to be an innocuous buy for the Swedish YouTube star turned out to be an illegal internet transaction. Kjellberg said in a March 2nd video that he was contacted by police after purchasing the balisong from Wish — an item that isn’t forbidden from sale on the site.

He explained; “I had the great idea [of] trying to buy a balisong. Because I like them. They’re fun to play with. It’s awesome. Well, don’t do that. Do not buy a balisong. The cops came to my house and they told me I was bad and I shouldn’t have done that,” he continued, before joking, “So, I am sorry. Ya boy’s got a criminal record! Let’s go!”

Kjellberg claimed that the event left him “stressed out,” prompting him to buy many different fidget toys, some of which he surprisingly appreciated.
