Shroud: “Pay-To-Lose” Valorant Ruination Skins

Arguably, the Ruination bundle in Valorant has the most extravagant skins yet according to Michael Grzesiel AKA Shroud thinks the League of Legends crossover skins are in fact “pay-to-lose” in-game.

In every sense of the word, the Ruination skin bundle is mega containing slick melee and upgradable guns, each with color customization, the skinlines is rivaled only by the dragon-themed line Elderflame released in Episode 1.

Gun upgrades are purchasable through Radiante Points and it is a crucial part of a player’s customizations options as it provides the opportunity to invest in weapons and grind by working through the battle pass but Shroud thinks the said updates consists of tweaks to animations and sound effects and that it can actually be detrimental to a player who wants to perform at the highest level.

Shroud explained while discussing the new Ruination bundle and said how the added SFX and VFX on skins like Ruination can make the weapons less player-friendly. He said that he use so many basic ones because using those kinds of skins is definitely pay-to-lose and added before showing odd of a collection of Junkyard and Kingdom that containing more stripped-back skins lines but when he saw the splashing 8700 Valorant points on the bundle, that didn’t stop him to buy and says that it looks too “fucking cool”.

Shroud explained furthermore on why he thinks the said skins are detrimental to players claiming that they are too visually noisy to be effective, too loud, and annoying. While testing the guns in the range, he showed exactly why he doesn’t like the upgradable VFX and SFX on the said weapons and tried out the Ruination Guardian that contains added lingering sound effects when fired.

If Riot opted for a more shroud-friendly style with the Sentinels of Light bundle, it would surely be an interesting one and it is set to drop on July 21st or Riot keeps with the extravagant designs displayed in the counterpart of Ruination.
