Ninja, the world’s most popular Twitch streamer, has begun rebranding himself, and the internet has had its say.

The Fortnite streamer has dropped the ninja emblem and the normal font in favor of his signature blue hair. Ninja’s rebranding coincided with his appearance on the Jimmy Fallon Show on April 19, where he talked about playing Mario Party and acting in Ryan Reynolds’ video game-themed movie Free Guy. The rebranding, however, has been met with skepticism, criticism of its quality, and a generally mixed reaction. The consensus tends to be that the new appearance is not a good one, no matter where you look.

Two separate trailers were released to accompany the announcement of the makeover. The first has stock explosions and bland dubstep music, while the second seems like something news organizations would get in their inbox. Several Twitter users took to the platform to express their thoughts. Everything was set out, from the classic ‘graphic design is my love’ to more sophisticated criticisms.

Users on the gaming community ResetEra, on the other hand, were a little more forthright in their answers. One person joked that he “should fire his graphic designer,” while another recreated the logo in response to Ninja’s announcement in 2018 that he would not stream with women.

Eat, the company behind the rebrand, explained what they sought to achieve in their project explainer, “We took a literal part of Ninja’s DNA and created a sleek, fun, unmistakable visual identity that would stand the test of time. The symbol is a tribute to a constant in his past, present, and future: his hair.”

Eat has designed the branding for big esports tournaments like as Twitch Rivals and Rainbow Six Seige with major brands like Activision, Ubisoft, and Twitch.

Ninja’s wife, Jessica Blevins, has joined in the fun, joking that the new logo seems like it says ‘Ninjoi.’ Since it was disclosed, admirers have been pointing out this detail.
