New Twitch Experiment

New Twitch Experiment

The Amazon owned streaming platform Twitch continues to gain numerous streamers that have just started streaming on the platform. The site obviously just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Twitch platform usually defaults to sorting channels and videos by the number of viewers a stream has; the more viewers watching, the higher up on the list they are.

Because of this, some small streamers have had a hard time trying to grow their own channel since they usually won’t be at the top of viewers lists. In the past, Twitch faced criticism for not doing enough to help smaller streamers.

Twitch has now announced that they will be trying out a new way for users to customize their Followed Channels list that sorts by viewing behavior instead of simply raw view count.

According to the announcement, it will make it easier on finding channels and content that is relevant to the viewer and also, it will support smaller communities. Twitch has made several changes in 2020 and this new change to Following lists seems like it could be positive for viewers and for smaller streamers if it works.
