Nate Hill, Marshmello Raise Money In Fortnite For COVID-19 Relief

Nate Hill is an American YouTuber, Twitch streamer and a professional Fortnite: Battle Royale player. He has also been a member of the group FaZe Clan since August 30, 2018. Before Nate Hill began his career as a professional gamer in Twitch, he was a guitarist, singer and a model. He has created numerous cover songs. His music cover was the start of Nate Hill channel on YouTube, switching over to Fortnite completely.

He focused on gaming full time, but still makes covers occasionally while livestreaming on Twitch. Nate has earned victories at tournaments like Summer Skirmish Series NA. He quickly gained recognition in the Fortnite community and was soon signed on to FaZe Clan. From there, he continued to compete in tournaments, and to build his stream so that he could become a full time streamer.

On March 31, Marshmello and Nate Hill of FaZe Clan squared off in a FortniteBattle Royale for the latest installment of Verizon’s twice-weekly PayIt Forward Live streaming series to support small businesses affected by COVID-19. Marshmello isn’t new to the Fortnite world where he has hosted a full concert within the game that drew in millions of viewers. He teamed up with Nate Hill to use the platform for the greater good. The skilled gamer and DJ dropped into random streams of workers from small industries or those that had been laid off. He distributed $500 each to individual people to assist and enhance the lives of those struggling as the coronavirus continues to affect day to day life.

“So many of us have been affected by the COVID-19 virus, and now more than ever we need to stand together and help each other. I’m proud to be teaming up with Verizon & Nate Hill to help small businesses. As a musician, a lot of my business is supported by the men and women in local communities and their businesses who help bring shows and festivals to life and who are now out of work for an unknown amount of time. Let’s Pay It Forward and help them now!”, Marshmello was quoted in a press release.

Verizon has donated $2.5 million to Local Initiatives Support Corporation’s small business COVID-19 relief efforts. Throughout the Pay It Forward Live series, up to an additional $2.5 million will be unlocked, $10 for each use of the hashtag #PayItForwardLive, as viewers pledge support for their favorite small businesses, bringing the potential donation to a total of $5 million.
