MrBeast TeamSeas Breaks Milestone

MrBeast’s newest project TeamSeas, a global drive to raise funding to clear trash from oceans, beaches, and rivers, has received $30 million in donations.

The well-known YouTuber-turned-philanthropist is recognized for a series of videos in which people donate money and supplies to those in need. His videos have struck a strong chord with viewers throughout the years. He’s been active with TeamTrees and, more recently, TeamSeas, in addition to his challenge-based videos. These projects were put together with the help of Mark Rober, a former NASA engineer turned YouTuber, and a number of other creators. The programs aim to keep the world’s ecological balance stable.

People were able to donate through the TeamSeas project. The funds will be split between Ocean Conservancy and The Ocean Cleanup, two non-profit organizations. They will remove the equivalent quantity of trash from the oceans—a pound for every dollar donated—and will receive the funds once the trash has been validated. Each organization will meet their portion of the target.

On October 30th, MrBeast posted a video showing himself cleaning a beach with the help of a few staff and advanced machinery. The campaign has raised $30 million in less than two months, demonstrating the public’s empathy and belief in the project’s success.

MrBeast isn’t new to the world of philanthropy. The content creator was also a key figure in the TeamTrees campaign, which raised more than $20 million to plant more than 20 million trees.
