Mizkif Turning Down 10 Million Dollar Deal

Streamers on Twitch are making more money than ever before. Twitch had a fantastic year last year, with viewership increasing by 45 percent, and streamers are reaping the benefits.

Twitch streamers who have grown in fame and influence are now being besieged with promotional pitches from shady gambling websites. Some broadcasters flatly refuse to accept the offers, questioning the morality of gambling live.

Pokimane, for example, was criticized for her gambling hypocrisy after accepting a deal despite previously criticizing the topic.

Regardless of the streamer’s ethical attitude, sometimes the offers are too attractive to pass up. Gorgc, a popular “Dota 2” streamer, for example, was previously opposed to gambling streams, but that changed after he was paid a big sum of money to advertise a popular gambling website. To the dismay of many fans, Gorgc is now reaping the benefits of a gambling sponsorship.

Mizkif, one of Twitch’s most popular content creators, was recently approached by an anonymous gambling company and promised $10 million to stream himself gambling on their platform. Mizkif, on the other hand, declined the offer for an unexpected reason.

Mizkif was reacting to a YouTube video titled “The Puppets of Online Gambling” during a livestream on April 24th when a footage of his appeared.

Mizkif was shown in the video revealing with his chat that he was once given $35,000 an hour to bet on live but declined. Mizkif today used the opportunity to emphasize that he was tempted to accept the offer.

He said, “You have to understand that I am a human and that I am also f**king 27 years old. To see these numbers… I’ll be blunt with you. Did I think about and consider doing it? Yes, I did.”

Mizkif, on the other hand, did not receive the desired response from the chat. Rather than agreeing with him that it would be a horrible idea, the majority of the conversation chanted, “Do it Pogchamp.” Mizkif said that there was another reason he declined the offer, aside from not wanting to anger his fans. Mizkif explained, “The biggest problem I had with it is I would have to move to Canada. It really was to me like what I was thinking about the most like I don’t want to move to Canada, I don’t want to be alone… I would never do it.”

Of course, he would have to move to Canada due to the legality of gambling streams in the US.

Mizkif is known for having special guests on his stream year-round from his Austin home, so moving to Canada would have been a major change for him. He would also be separated from his gaming group, One True King. Who knows, perhaps the next offer will be too good to refuse, and Mizkif will pack his belongings.
