Mizkif Regrets Spending $60k

Twitch streamer Matthew Rinaudo aka Mizkif recently spent $60k on a one-year anniversary stream for Overwatch, and it turns out he now regrets it.

Mizkif held an all-day broadcast on October 11 to celebrate the one-year anniversary of his organization, ‘One True Kings.’

He went above and beyond for his audience, renting an Airbnb, purchasing fireworks, cake, and Chipotle food catering, among other things. They even went so far as to announce Cyr, the org’s eighth member.

The celebration, however, was hampered by concerns such as their Airbnb host inviting friends and relatives over without permission and technical difficulties with the camera. On october 13th, Mizkif then revealed during his recent live broadcast that the celebration stream cost him $60,000 and that he regretted spending so much money on such a tumultuous event.

He stated; “What bothers me the most is that I spent $60k, then Cyr went live with just a backpack to stream a game of Jenga and it was way better than mine.”

Mizkif added that he advised the newest OTK member to go live so he could raid and give him more viewers, and that he was pleased that his friend’s broadcast was a hit, attracting even more people than the official stream. He also went on to say that they went so far as to hire a production team to coordinate the day’s activities. But that didn’t happen as he explained; “They told me nothing. Me and Esfand walked around with our heads cut off, so confused on what to do.”

Fortunately, Sodapoppin was on hand to assist in the planning of the event’s activities.

Because of this incident, Mizkif says that they won’t be doing any large events in the future, such as their anniversary stream. They’re going to acquire another backpack full of mobile streaming gear so that the OTK creators may all work together as friends to create basic stuff.
