League Of Legends Dethroned By GTA RP

League of Legends is no longer king of Twitch, after having held the position for several months. GTA V recaptured the top gaming rank on the platform in November 2022, helped by a rush of RP streamers who had previously left the platform.

Tens of millions of hours are watched of League of Legends each month on Twitch, making it one of the streaming service’s audience kings. Grand Theft Auto V, however, eclipsed the MOBA in November, undoubtedly one of League of Legends’ weakest months of the year, and became the second most watched genre on Twitch (behind Just Chatting). 

League of Legends had a total watch time of 92.6 million hours in November 2022, whereas GTA V had a watch time of 99.5 million hours, according to Sullygnome. And as usual, Just Chatting took first place in the area of most viewers with a staggering 239.8 million hours of viewing time. The current comeback of the GTA RP is largely responsible for how GTA managed to surpass League of Legends. One of the most popular Twitch streamers, Felix “xQc” Lengyel, returned to the game in November, which significantly increased the total amount of time that GTA V has been seen on Twitch. This came after he previously stated that he was giving up the game “for good.” As for League of Legend’s audience, the devs normally do testing in November after Worlds.
