KristoferYee Opens Up About Sykkuno Leaving Twitch

According to KristoferYee, Sykkuno was given a “ridiculous” sum of money to sign an exclusive streaming deal with YouTube, and staying with Twitch made “no sense.”

After months of uncertainty about his future, Sykkuno made a surprise switch to YouTube on May 2. Ludwig, DrLupo, TimTheTatman, and Valkyrae were among the past Twitch streamers who followed in his footsteps. KristoferYee, a prominent streamer known for building custom pcs and keyboards, has occasionally dabbled in GTA RP with Sykkuno. During his most recent stream, he claimed that Sykkuno was offered a “ridiculous” sum of money to jump ship.

He said, “I became aware that Sykkuno was going to YouTube. I’d heard about the different numbers and what was being offered, and I was like, damn! I don’t want to get into specifics. But Sykkuno, the deal that he was offered from Twitch versus YouTube was f**king insane. It was absolutely ridiculous. It made absolutely no sense for him to stay on Twitch. It made none. There was no amount of money. There was no contract deal. There were no gifted subs that could have been given to him that would have justified that contract.”

He also stated that it had left him “perplexed” regarding Twitch’s future streamer retention plan. “I think Twitch is putting a lot of pressure and belief to figure out how to make this company profitable. However, the thing that I find very confusing is that, in the pursuit of Twitch trying to become profitable, they are also losing people on this platform that bring their consumers to this website, like Sykkuno.”
