How Jacksepticeye, A Gaming YouTuber With 23 Million Subscribers, Handles The Pressure While Remaining Connected To His Followers

Seán William McLoughlin, better known as Jacksepticeye, is an Irish YouTuber, best known for his vlogs and comedic Let’s Play series. As of May 2020, his channel has had over 12 billion views and has over 24 million subscribers. It is ranked the most-subscribed channel in Ireland.

In 2018 he conquered a mental health issue because of the pressure of posting a video every day.

Jacksepticeye started with almost nothing, making around only $10 every couple of months, but he persevered and he became one of the YouTube top creators by posting a video every single day for the past five years with barely ever taking a day off all along the way.

“I spoke to friends about this a couple of times — After about 6 million, it all starts to feel the same. I don’t know why it’s that number but after that you realize that although the number gets bigger and the views might grow, still the sense of doing it and how you feel kind of stays the same.”

McLoughlin has also participated in fundraisers that have raised millions for charity.
