Is PewDiePie Taking A YouTube Break?

Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg has spoken out about his YouTube burnout, announcing that he will no longer upload videos.

PewDiePie has consistently uploaded content on YouTube since his debut in 2013, until taking his first break in January 2020. The Swedish YouTuber looks to be making his leave an annual event, as he announced another break in 2021.

During a live stream on January 3rd, Kjellberg said that viewers will have to wait another month for his regularly scheduled content, and he discussed his YouTube burnout after creating nearly daily videos all year. PewDiePie began his live by informing his audience that he was “technically” on break and that he normally takes the month of January off from uploading videos.

Here’s what he stated; “I’m not gonna upload this month I think. I feel kinda, not burnt out, but it would be nice to take some time off. Even these two days where I haven’t uploaded, it feels good not having to think about what to upload.”

Felix also remarked that the greatest month for him to go on vacation is January, presumably since his video and stream views aren’t as high. PewDiePie went on to express gratitude to his fans for not forcing him into making videos. He did say, though, that he might broadcast a few times over the month.

PewDiePie has been announcing his departure from the platform for the past two years. However, he casually mentioned it on his stream this year, so perhaps we’ll see the creator take a break every January.

In any case, the creator will be missed by his fans throughout his trip. /r/pewdiepiesubmissions, the creator’s subreddit, has gone hilariously wild with a broad array of memes surrounding his absence over his last two absences, so we’ll have something to look forward to in the coming weeks.
