Gordon Ramsay May Be Joining Twitch?

After a boom in popularity of streamers watching his TV shows on Twitch, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay may be intending to bring his content to the platform – but he’s also shut down streamers who want to ‘react’ to it.

In early 2022, the MasterChef meta, often known as the TV show meta, has swept Twitch by storm. Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel, Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys, and Hasan ‘Hasanabi’ Piker, among others, have all participated in reacting to TV shows and anime in front of hundreds of thousands of viewers. The reactionary content has surged in popularity across the site, but then it has caused problems, with streamers receiving DMCA strikes and being suspended.

Streamers approached Gordon Ramsay himself to obtain permission to stream his show in order to avoid a DMCA strike. However, it appears that the celebrity chef has his own plans to bring his content to Twitch on his own channel.

In a tweet on January 12th, popular Warzone player and Twitch streamer Bartonologist approached the world-famous Gordon Ramsay for permission to stream his upcoming show Next Level Chef. The celebrity chef declined the offer, stating that he could stream the show himself on Twitch: “Why would I let you do it on Twitch when I could do it myself?”

“And the answer for you is still no,” Gordon continued, denying Bartonologist, and by implication all streamers, permission to watch his Next Level Chef stream. Whether Gordon Ramsay decides to launch his own Twitch channel to bring his TV shows to the platform, or if the rumored collab with xQc materializes, viewers will be eager to see the famous chef meet paths with streamers more frequently.
