Forsen Is Banned From PUBG

Popular Twitch streamer Forsen has a special relationship with his viewers. His Twitch chat and the community that surrounds it perform increasingly crazy things in an attempt to provoke a reaction from Forsen, and Forsen plays along, downplaying his viewers’ absurdity. 

But, as Forsen’s recent experience playing PUBG: Battlegrounds shows, this relationship may sometimes lead to frustrating scenarios. Forsen was banned from PUBG: Battlegrounds for the second time on Friday, very definitely for circumstances beyond his control.

In a clip from Forsen’s most recent PUBG: Battlegrounds stream, the Twitch streamer was once again banned. Forsen was loading into PUBG and waiting for the server to connect when he received a notice stating that he had been banned.

The notification stated, “You have been banned from PUBG until 2022-05-15 due to abuse.” 

There was no further information about the nature of Forsen’s suspension.

While it’s certainly possible that Forsen broke PUBG’s Terms of Service in some way, whether on- or off-stream, it’s far more likely that something else occurred. After all, this isn’t the first time Forsen has had to cope with a ban. What happened was that Forsen’s community, or possibly a competing community, reported him enough in PUBG for the game’s auto-moderation tools to activate and ban him without review. To put it another way, Forsen was banned because he made people laugh. 

The issue is particularly amusing because, as previously stated, this is Forsen’s second ban in less than a week.  

He was banned on April 8, however owing to the nature of the ban, he was able to get his account reactivated. However, it appears that PUBG Corp. made no improvements to assure that the ban would not occur again, resulting in Forsen being banned once more. It’s uncertain whether PUBG can make such improvements, but if the developer wants the attention that Forsen brings to the game, it’s worth reviewing the issue. To his credit, Forsen didn’t miss a beat after being banned from PUBG. “That’s that,” he remarked, and then launched Steam to look for a new game to play. After chuckling at the ban, his chat shifted gears and began promoting other games for Forsen to play. Of course, Forsen’s circumstance isn’t unusual. In every game they play, popular Twitch streamers and content creators confront bogus reports. Many games have safeguards in place to prevent waves of false reports from resulting in automatic bans, but Forsen’s popularity makes him an outlier.  

Whether Forsen will play PUBG again is likely to be determined by how quickly his ban is lifted.
