Doublelift Breaks Employment Agreement

TSM’s dispute with former LCS star Yiliang ‘Doublelift’ Peng has reached new heights, with the League of Legends veteran publishing a secret letter he got late in 2021 explaining his dismissal.

TSM and Doublelift have been publicly squabbling for months. After Doublelift accused TSM founder Andy ‘Reginald’ Dinh of harassment and abuse, the LCS organization and its former star AD carry kicked it off in November 2021. Since then, the retired League of Legends player and the organization have exchanged heated comments. However, it has resurfaced in the wake of a fresh Washington Post piece regarding Reginald’s behavior behind closed doors.

On May 5, the two’s feud took a drastic turn when Doublelift published a letter from esports law firm ELG Law LLP demanding that he stop “disparaging” the company publicly. ELG Law says of Doublelift’s comments against TSM on Twitch; “On November 9th and 10th [2021], you committed uncurable breaches of the Agreements during your Twitch livestream.”

These remarks refer to Doublelift’s description of TSM as “disgusting” following their 2021 roster troubles. The letter accuses Doublelift of revealing confidential information by listing four sections of the contract he signed. TSM also cancelled the star’s employment contract, who was a livestream for the team at the time.

The letter’s secrecy didn’t bother Doublelift, who shared it six months after receiving it, baiting Reginald to send the next one. TSM was weighing their options, according to the letter, which included the possibility of Doublelift paying up to $200,000 in damages for each breach of the agreement.

As of the time of publication, no legal action has been taken. Reginald, the owner of TSM, refuses to comment on the latest charges made in the Washington Post piece. Riot is investigating his actions at the moment.
