Disguised Toast’s Reason for Leaving Twitch

Streamer Disguised Toast’s decision to switch from Twitch to Facebook Gaming in 2019 sparked quite a stir in the streaming world. Jeremy ‘Disguised Toast’ Wang now finally explained the reason for his platform decision two years later, on a livestream alongside kkatamina, the top subbed female Twitch streamer.

Toast’s motives were essentially pecuniary, as many had predicted. It is common knowledge that Facebook Gaming pays their streamers significantly more than Twitch. Toast’s revelation of the difference, on the other hand, was absolutely astounding.

Disguised Toast discussed why he switched to Facebook Gaming after quitting Twitch during a recent livestream with kkatamina. He said that Twitch was severely undervaluing him, with the platform offering him only “one-thirtieth” of what Facebook was offering. Toast stated, “The offer from Twitch two years ago that they made to me was about 1/30th.”

He then went on to evaluate the various pay rates offered by each streaming platform to its streamers: “When it comes to platform offers, traditionally, Twitch offers the least, and YouTube would offer across the board twice, or triple that. Facebook is the same, about triple-ish. And that applied to a lot of the people who signed platform deals.”

Toast, as expected, chose the platform that offered him the most money and began streaming on Facebook Gaming. The streamer has garnered huge popularity over the last two years by streaming on Facebook and playing various games with his OfflineTV friends and Amigops. In addition, the streamer and his fellow OfflineTV members recently attended the Arcane premiere.

However, it appears that the streamer will be returning to the platform where he first gained recognition in the near future. Toast hinted at a return to Twitch lately, stating he’d have to retrain himself to stream on the platform. The broadcaster has also been showing up on kkatamina’s Twitch streams on a regular basis. Fans, on the other hand, will have to wait for an official announcement before getting any confirmation on the news.
