Disguised Toast Scared

Fans were divided on Twitter after streamer Jeremy ‘Disguised Toast’ Wang revealed his worry of being “vulnerable” by sharing his feelings with others. As a result, he thinks he feels compelled to be “mean to people” in order to avoid rejection.

Disguised Toast, an Amazon-owned Twitch streamer, has had a lot of success on the platform in recent years. Toast’s livestreams can draw in hundreds of thousands of viewers at a time, with 2.6 million followers on the site as of writing. Valkyrae, Sykkuno, Disguised Toast, and Corpse Husband, among his fellow ‘Amigops,’ have warmed the hearts of streaming fans all around the world.

Toast, on the other hand, said in an emotional Twitter post that he still struggles to open up to those he loves about. One of the causes for this is his fear of rejection.

Disguised Toast split fans in a tweet on May 4 when he revealed that his fear of rejection impacts how he treats the people he loves. He said; “Sometimes I feel like I have to be mean to people that I care about. Because if I’m nice and try to be close with them that means opening up myself to be vulnerable.” Toast stated that he finds the thought of opening out “terrifying,” and that he was afraid of being “rejected” if he did so. As a result, he acts “distant […] so that it’ll never happen.”

Toast’s post triggered a firestorm of discussion among his followers, who shared their own stories. Some others remarked that Toast should be able to be his “true self” around others instead than worrying about being “nice.” Toast’s fans, on the other hand, were quick to show him affection, guaranteeing that they ‘appreciate’ all of the hard work he does for them.

Despite the fact that it’s unclear what sparked Toast’s statement, the streamer has had a big week because to the commotion surrounding his Rust Twitch Rivals Tournament. In addition, the news that his friend Sykkuno was leaving Twitch for YouTube sent shockwaves through the streaming community.
