Disguised Toast Resurrecting TV Meta

In January 2022, Disguised Toast played a big part in starting the Twitch TV meta, which involves streamers viewing their favorite shows live, and he plans to do it again.

The first streamer to do it wasn’t him. He decided to explore how far he could go, though, after witnessing how others got away with watching shows like Master Chef and Squid Game. On January 11, the Amazon-owned platform issued a DMCA strike and stopped the Twitch star’s streaming after he spent hours viewing popular anime series like Naruto and Death Note live, which were among the most watched streams at the height of the meta.

That hasn’t totally stopped him from trying to bring it back to life again. On July 1st, he said, “I like doing things that are interesting.”

The OfflineTV celebrity is a little worried since two more strikes could result in a permanent ban from the platform, which will prevent him from even being able to start new channels or watch his friends stream. However, he is toying with the notion of watching Naruto Shippuden onstream because it is something he has always wanted to do. He is a genuine rebel at heart. The streamer declared, “I plan to do it before the end of this year.”

Toast is aware of the danger, but because he still has two strikes left, he’s considering taking a chance. Additionally, he believes there is a chance Twitch won’t take any action against him. He stated, “I’ve seen Morbius streamed on Twitch for 24 hours straight. They can’t take action because, legally, if they do it without a report, they are admitting they were aware of an infringement happening on the platform.”

Toast feels that taking action against one Twitch stream will require them to take action against all of them, and they lack the administrative capacity to do so. He will therefore be secure unless the copyright holder, in this case Viz Media, issues a strike.
