Asmongold’s Take On YouTube Gaming

In comparison to Twitch, Asmongold slammed YouTube Gaming, calling it “garbage” and “absolute trash,” before stating that Microsoft’s now-defunct streaming platform, Mixer, was better.

Asmon is one of the scene’s most open and honest streamers. He frequently has strong opinions about games and game development, particularly World of Warcraft, but he also weighs in on stream-related topics. It’s no wonder, then, that after seeing Ludwig criticize YouTube Gaming’s discoverability method in comparison to Twitch, the MMO Streamer of the Year chimed in, and he didn’t mince words.

Ludwig said; “Twitch has a lot more to offer just in discoverability. Even though it’s not the best discoverability platform, it’s still better than Youtube Gaming.”

He explained that the present discoverability approach for YouTube Gaming needs viewers to scroll down to the left-hand side of the website and click ‘live,’ which is inconvenient. “This isn’t the greatest thing of all time, right?”

Asmon responded with his own scathing remarks: “Ludwig’s on contract non-disparagement clause. I’m not. It’s f**king garbage. It’s absolute trash. It is probably the worst thing I’ve ever seen.”

He stated that Mixer, Microsoft’s now-defunct streaming platform, performed better. “Mixer was better than this, and Mixer is in the toilet. If YouTube were built around live streaming, it would be in the dumpster.”

Regardless of his remarks, YouTube Gaming has become a popular destination for streamers. They’ve signed some huge names, including DrLupo, TimTheTatman, and Ludwig, in addition to being DrDisrespect’s new home. Microsoft, on the other hand, shut down Mixer in 2020 after multi-million dollar deals with Ninja and Shroud failed to turn it into a powerful platform. So, even if it’s not to Asmon’s taste, YouTube Gaming must be doing something right.
