Asmongold on New World Beta

World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold recently discussed his gameplay concerns for another upcoming MMORPG, New World on his recent youtube video upload.

Amazon’s highly anticipated New World MMO continues to power forward, as it is quickly approaching its delayed release date of August 31, 2021. It will use a buy-to-play model with no subscription cost, but New World will have paid cosmetics and XP boosters for players willing to shell out money. However, it’s already under fire from prominent gamers in its closed beta period.

While other streamers such as Shroud has said that he has high hopes for the genre’s newcomer, it seems like other streamers such as Asmongold aren’t so optimistic as he went so far as to say that the game was not yet ready to release based on the state of its beta. Asmongold is a big fan of MMORPGs.

Asmongold has made a name for himself streaming games like World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV, more recently. Asmongold’s streams of Final Fantasy XIV have seemingly led to a massive surge in interest in Square Enix’s game, so many viewers have come to see him as an authority on the MMO genre. However, on his recent youtube video upload, Asmongold laid out some serious concerns about the game’s beta, and how things are progressing.

He has apparently spent 182 hours with the game between the betas, and says New World is not ready for a release next month. Asmongold claims that things like core movements, attack patterns, and trading prompts don’t work. He also stressed that he wants to see the game succeed, but there are a number of issues that could prevent that, if Amazon doesn’t fix them.

Here’s what he said; “It is so dysfunctional. It is so laggy. It is so broken. It is not ready. And I don’t know what they’re gonna do. Because to be honest, I feel like a lot of the core issues with the game have not gotten fixed.”
