Asmongold Addresses xQc And Ibai

Despite making the final nominees’ shortlist for the 2022 Esports Awards last month, Asmongold has said he doesn’t deserve to win Streamer of the Year.

He believes that either content juggernaut Felix “xQc” Lengyel or Spanish juggernaut Ibai “Ibai” Llanos should receive the endgame honors.

He said; “I think the two people that deserve it are either Ibai or xQc. There’s just no question. I didn’t even stream this whole year. Categorically, I shouldn’t be on the list.”

The MMO veteran had a fantastic year on Twitch, attracting close to 70 million hours of viewing, which is on par with Ibai’s statistics. But xQc’s ludicrous stats, which have so far placed the French-Canadian on the Twitch throne in the first half of 2022, overwhelm both of them. Even so, he feels that there are still certain areas where he could improve, notably in terms of creativity, which is one of the three factors they take into account and, in his opinion, the most crucial one.

On July 3, Asmongold stated; “Obviously, I do pretty well. My stream does well. But am I really doing anything super innovative? I’m just pretty much just sitting here talking and just giving my opinion and playing video games every once in a while.”

According to Asmongold, if he had to choose the winner, he would go with the person who innovated the most and did the most to advance the industry. Ibai is the ideal illustration of that, claims Asmongold. The incredibly well-liked Spanish streamer has been breaking barriers like nobody else by conducting extensive interviews with football professionals, staging massive creator boxing events, and more. Since xQc hasn’t been very inventive, this is presumably why he wasn’t nominated—an omission that the “juicer” himself approved of.

Asmongold claims that despite this, he deserves one given the extent of his fame. Asmongold may not be happy about being nominated for a gong, but the selection committee feels he deserves to be considered. He still has a chance to win because the public can cast votes to help determine the winner. In December 2022, Las Vegas will play host to the Esports Awards.
