Amouranth Speaks Out About The Benefits She Get From Controversial Streams

Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa discussed some of the controversy her hot tub streaming has generated on Twitch and how it actually benefits her.

Amouranth was one among the many streamers who, by broadcasting in bikinis and engaging in heated conversation in hot tubs, helped bring in a controversial new “Twitch meta” last year. In response to the uproar around hot tub streams being advertiser-friendly in the Just Chatting section, Twitch finally established a separate category specifically for that kind of content. Siragusa was happy that the Amazon-owned streaming service chose not to “strike down against women and their bodies,” but the very fact that her streams exist has generated some controversy, which, in her opinion, has really aided her.

Amouranth said in an interview with Refinery29 that she believes there is more of a “bias” from some viewers who freak out when she streams in a bikini and exposes more skin.

Here’s what she stated; “I feel like it actually would do the world better if people were more desensitized to human bodies, specifically female bodies. If they can just get used to seeing girls in bikinis, maybe they stop freaking out about it and acting weird about it… I feel like this is my body. I’m human. You have a body, too. And we should all just get over it and look past that and move on.”

Amouranth has taken advantage of these perceptions, though, and has become the most popular female streamer in the world of streaming, surpassing well-known figures like Pokimane and Valkyrae. She added; “Companies will use attractive women to draw in customers and remain memorable. So I definitely do find that annoying, but that’s just how the world is and instead of feeling bitter about it. I just decided to capitalize on it.”

Siragusa claims she never “planned” to create erotic content, but she gave it a try after observing other girls doing it and immediately saw the benefits. She said; “It wasn’t very hard to know it was working for me because my view count went from about 4,000 views on average to 10,000 and 13,000, hitting 20,000 and occasionally 30,000,”

Amouranth claims that she currently earns almost $100,000 each month via Twitch. She also receives a massive $27 million in revenue from OnlyFans, which she has prudently invested in significant business ventures with.
